This isn’t the only diesel-powered motorcycle that we’ve ever seen, but it might be the quickest. Built by California-based industrial arts group The Crucible, this wildly clad bike is propelled by a BMW six-cylinder diesel engine that burns biodiesel, and can reach speeds upwards of 130 mph. The team is still developing the diesel rocket and hopes to hit 160 mph within the next few months. Watch the BMW bike in action in the YouTube video above.

No electric bikes running at Bonnieville eh? I don’t quite see the point, other than “to see if it can be done”. 130Mph is hardly worth talking about when compared to regular gas or electric motorcycles. I’m actually suprised it can’t go faster than that with better gearing.
I think an inline six makes that bike way too long to be a practical street bike. With the sort of fuel economy motorcycles get, it would seem to me that a diesel bike is an answer to a question no one is asking.
