Question of the Day: Which Mercedes-Benz Needs to Die?

mercedes_logo.jpg

These choose a vehicle to kill questions seem to be fun for everyone, so we're going to keep them up until we run out of automakers. Now we're moving to one of the successful European companies.

You are the Product Grim Reaper at Mercedes-Benz. Which single model line would you kill off immediately, and why? Let us know in comments.

Ducati Minor

R-Class.

Sean

R, GL, A, and B classes for a start.

Corco

Maybach

Corco

Also CLS

Shumly

R and C class hatchback (three door)

Corco

Are they still making the C-hatch for the US?! Yeah, it needs to die if it's still around

ziggy

News must be slow in the auto world to keep coming up with stupid articles about what cars should die!

Waltzon

Ziggy-- if you're going to be a troll, at least be a FUNNY troll. What a waste of electrons. Anyway, on to the highly entertaining and cerebral exercise assigned to us by the winding road mavens:

Mercedes should most definitely kill the Maybach. It is a waste of money and effort and a drain on dealers. Make an uber-S-series package with some of the tastier Maybach options and call it a day. Otherwise... how about the CL? It is big, kinda goofy looking and serves no real purpose other than to provide a speedy berth for those with industrial strength wallets and corresponding posteriors.

Reilly

Maybach, although technically not MB. Within the brand, I have to say R.

Trinks

The entire SUV line-up except for the G500. It's just too "tough-as-nails" looking to give the axe to.

Steven J. Ewing

R-class. Specifically, the R63 AMG. I'm sure the only ones on the road are manufacturer vehicles.

Jonathan Fung [Gotakon]

R-Class would have to be the one. I can't see why anyone would buy one of those overpriced eggplants...in fact, very few ever do.

Gianni

R-class. Is it a wagon? SUV? Minivan? I duno, but whatever it is, I hate it.

Paul In Jersey

Kill the R-class. It's supposed to replace the stationwagons. It's supposed to appeal to late baby boomers/early geezers who want something that's easy to get in and out of. It's supposed to appeal to families
who want something with more room than a C-class wagon or an E-class wagon.

Instead, it appeals to no one. And it's ugly too. Kill it!

tony2x

How about the entire Chrysler group. Oh hang on, too late. Mitsubishi? Nope, sorry that's gone too.

Ok, so how about aborting the next generation C-class Sport coupe before it even gets born.

Dr. Paul

R-class and CLS.

Darren

R, G, & M class and the Maybach.

fantasyfreddy

petroleum-burning engines.

R-class, B-class, GL-class... need to go.

m1hne2

R class...A class...SLR....and Maybach

You're a complete putz. a car company would be on financial suicide to cut all of their SUV models. You must be a sadly single individual of average proportions, moderate driving needs and completely lacking in the spirit of driving. With your wide swath of elimination, it makes me wonder why you would even bother to be a subscriber/reader of WindingRoad or any other car publication. Were you having a slow day perhaps? Give MarthaSteward.com another read and save us the bother of your non-applicable and wholesale input. yawn.

HerrDr. Dieter Zeitsche

Chris Bangle must die!!!!!!
