Question of the Day: Which JDM Car Do You Desire?

mazdaaz-1hl.jpg

While the world is full of automotive forbidden fruit that’s been deemed unfit for American consumption, there’s just something we love about products from the Japanese Domestic Market. If you were to indulge in a no-price-too-high game of gray marketeering, what car, new or old, would you bring over from the shores of Japan? Take a look at a couple of memory joggers in the galleries below and then give us your pick, in comments.

If you’ve got an idea for Question of the Day, a funny photo for Caption It, or just want to share a news tip, let us know at windingroadtips@gmail.com

I've always liked the Nissan Figaro, S-Cargo, and Cube. Also, the Subaru Kei cars are a hoot to drive. I also really like the Honda FR-V.

Brett

Mo, now you just sound like a little boy. Go away little boy.

Definitely evo vi and the r32

I guess this Question only appeals to someone who has any experience or knowledge of JDM cars. Unfortunately, most Japanese domestic offerings are not covered by American magazines, which is a shame, as there are some interesting cars out there. Maybe WR will change that, but I doubt it.

Their Honda Odyssey. Why does ours look like a cow while they get one that looks like a shark? Man their Odyssey looks fast. It'd be the coolest van on the block.

x3sob, you'd really have to go with the tuner magazines for coverage on JDM offerings. it's been a few years since i've kept up, but i'd suspect rags like super street, sport compact car, and import tuner (along with the dedicated honda rags) would provide some insights into what we only wish we could have.

The 2000gt isn't strictly JDM - it was sold here. Carroll Shelby raced a few. I thought they looked like an E-Type in pictures, but in person they're smaller and more beautiful than I imagined.

Seyth, what's wrong with you, where's the next Question?

Bald-win

dante, I realize that the 2000GT was made available in North America, but with an official production run consisting of 337 vehicles (including the 007 movie cars, but not the 2300GT test vehicles), I just had to mention it.
