Question of the Day: What Would You Like Your Last Car to be?

1978-1987-bmw-7-hl.jpg

Yesterday we read everyone’s opinion on what made for the perfect starter car, now we’d like to know which you’d pick to be your closer. Which car would you like to be driving when the police officer (or your scolding, unappreciative child) finally pulls the license from your wrinkled grasp? Give us your best answer, in comments.

1967 Cadillac sideloader hearse - I don't want that new crap hauling me off.

You gotta go with a timeless classic:

I'd choose whatever the future equivalent is of the:

Porsche 911 Carrera S.

Mena

My last car will the last one I own when I die.

Suzuki DL650K6

R8

FPF422

It will be a hearse... but at that point I wouldn't care any more LOL

Don't know what will make me tick in the future, so it will have to be a classic... something like a 1937 Delage D8-120 S Pourtout Areo... or a 1939 Delahaye 165 Cabriolet...

Sean

Rolls-Royce, so I could have my driver shuttle me around. Too bad that more older folks don't have drivers. It could improve road safety!!!

Robert

Ferrari F430 Scuderia in white

A Maserati Ghibli Spyder; realistically, though, a small-block V-8 1972-74 Plymouth 'Cuda hardtop.

Any Lexus.

They are pretty much designed for and bought by dead people.

Besides, if I owned one, I'd pretty much be brain dead from the driving experience.

Gianni

That flying car they keep promising...

Robert

the one i started driving in.

hwyhobo

Full-size, old-style American station wagon. None exist today, but with the slow demise of the SUVs, maybe we will see some again.

Pedro

360 Challenge Stradale. It's pretty close to heaven as is (I have yet to drive the F430 Scuderia). Short of that, bury me in my 911 SC

I agree with Gianni, the car that flies.

I want my next and last car to be the 67' Sting Ray corvette 427c.i. 435HP 4-spd...."The last Sting Ray".

Kai

1961 Jaguar E-Type Coupe in British Racing Green.

Trinks

The last of the V-8 Interceptors.

Something big and comfortable with easy to read and use knobs and gauges. Or a car that drives itself, they might have those in high use by the time I'm a senior citizen.

A black ALFA 8C Competizione. wonderful

Actually, I like that red station wagon type thing from the first Mad Max movie. I also like the cop car from the Blues Brothers. Magnum PI's loaner Ferrari wouldn't be bad either. I'd also accept the pickup truck from Simon & Simon. The Little Burro (Ford Bronco) from "Romancing the Stone" would offer some top-down, go anywhere driving fun. If Burt Reynolds were to deliver it, I'd take is Trans-Am from Cannon Ball Run. Perhaps the original Kitt would make a good choice, so I wouldn't have to drive and endanger the youths of tomorrow. Certainly something from a late '70s or early '80s TV/Cinema would satisfy me.

Dustin

After hooning around in my Lamborghini Countach, doing donuts in the street in front of my house, I'll hand the keys to the policeman at the rip age of 82 and say: "Here you go, officer... NOW GET OFF MY LAWN!"
