92nd Indianapolis 500
Sunday, May 25th
1:00pm - 4:30pm, ABC

Scott Dixon eased past his Target teammate Dan Weldon by .1795 seconds to take the pole after the first day of qualifying for the 92nd Indy 500. On the outside of row 1 Ryan Briscoe was just .0215 seconds further back. Danica Patrick briefly held the pole earlier in the day, continuing to impress after victory in Japan. She will start in the middle of row 2 between a couple drivers who have in the past expressed their appreciation for her skills; Helio Castroneves (inside) and Tony Kanaan (outside). The gentlemen will no doubt set chivalry aside as soon as the green flag drops Sunday.

Joining Patrick on the grid this year will be Sarah Fisher owner/driver of #67 in 22nd position and Milka Duno's Dreyer & Reinbold Racing #23 in 27th position on the outside of row 9. There will also be a couple Andrettis in attendance: Marco, Row 3, in the Indiana Jones #7 and John’s #21 on Row 7. Hideki Mutoh, rookie of the year in the 2007 Indy Pro Series, will carry Panasonic livery under the Andretti Green Racing banner from the outside of row 3. Will Power, fast man from Toowoomba in Queensland, Australia, will start from the middle of row 8.

The weather service is calling for a perfect racing day; high 70’s and no rain.
