Renault Hopes for a Return to the Front with Alonso, and the New R28
Renault’s Formula One team was the latest to officially offer up it’s entry for the 2008 season, showing the new R28 for the first time in Paris.
We’ve already managed to get a peek at the Renault racer, when driver Fernando Alonso took it out for a few foggy shakedown laps in Spain last week. The Renault team is keeping a level head about the new car in the early going, simply stating that the R28 “ran reliably

Only if the car is substantially different from last year. I don't think just the addition of Alonshole to Renault will return them to championship level. Hopefully I'll be wrong though and we'll see some serious competition this year.

If the second driver for Renault had not been Heiki, Alonso might make a big difference. Since Heiki has demonstrated that he can get as much out of a car as any driver on the grid, I think renault's problem last year was with the car, not the driver.
