maxmosleysmallhl.jpgDespite major pressure after yesterday’s media blitz surrounding the Max Mosley sex scandal, Mosley seems to have no intention of stepping down from his position as FIA president.

Sources close to Mosley have confirmed that the president plans to continue on in his current position, while continuing to discuss further legal action against British tabloid News of the World, which broke the story. Mosley is considering changing his plans for this weekend’s Bahrain Grand Prix however, after being scheduled to meet with the Bahraini Royal Family before attending the race.

While Mosley could pass on the visit as a means of saving the royals any potential embarrassment, an FIA spokesman said that plans are still unclear.

“We understand that Mr Mosley had originally planned to attend Bahrain but is currently unavailable due to consultation with
lawyers, and we cannot confirm his plans,” said the spokesman.

Meanwhile Formula One’s Bernie Ecclestone suggested that it might be best for Mosley to skip Bahrain, while still upholding his support for the embattled FIA president.

“He shouldn’t go, should he? The problem is he would take all the ink away from the race and put it on something which, honestly and truly, is nobody else’s business anyway,” said Ecclestone.

When pushed to answer if Mosley should indeed resign Ecclestone said, “Max should do is what he thinks is right because it is only him that’s involved, not the FIA. He must do what he believes.”

Hey, a guy with a violent sex habit requires a violent takedown. I can’t wait.

He must be related to the mayor of Detroit. It’s sad that there are two people in the world this stupid.

It is within his character to act on his Nazi fantasy, it is a fact that his parents were ardent fascists in WWII, in fact Goebbels presented Sir Max’s parents to Adolph Hitler and was present @their wedding.
Stig, there are @ least 3 stupid people, don’t forget Elliot Spitzer.

Just another example of “absolute power corrupts absolutely”.

Or, “He who casts stones shouldn’t live in a glass house”

Or, “Due unto others as you would have them do unto you”

Or, “for every action there is an opposite and equal reaction”

I like the last one the most. It is an immutable law of physics that applies universally. We’ve all been a victim of it whether we knew it or not.

Paul- Spitzer wasn’t as stupid, he didn’t do any strange nazi orgies or anything like that. He also didn’t film the thing, heh. Still, shame he isn’t quitting. I don’t think this has an effect on his ability to lead- that was already close to none to begin with. F1 especially will suffer further if he stays on there. I really want Mosley to leave before he does further damage to F1.

At least Spitzer, when it all blew up, had the b@lls to apologize, say “I f*d up, I disgraced myself, my family, and the state of New York, goodbye.” We’re all entitled to mistakes and real character comes through when these faults are brought out. Mosley and Kilpatrick are continuing to show theirs.

And I agree with Jeff - Mosley has made a joke out of F1 and should leave anyway. This whole scandal just makes it worse.

Sure Spitzer disgraced everyone, but the guy broke the law, of course he had to leave office. And do you think Mosley is the only person out there with crazy sex fetishes? Let the guy do what he wants to do on his own time.

Do you think Ron Dennis may have had anything to do with the “exposure” of Sir Max’s proclivities?
