Juan Pablo Montoya and his teammates Scott Pruett and Salvador Duran won the Rolex 24 at Daytona today in their #01 Lexus Riley. The Colombian took the win in only his first attempt (he did the same at the Indianapolis 500 in 2000) at the Daytona road course and put in a very spirited stint during the morning hours to get the lead back. Duran was also a Rolex 24 rookie, while Pruett notched his second overall win.

The Alegra Racing Porsche GT3 took honors in the GT class, with Jean Francois Dumoulin, Carlos de Quesada, Scooter Gabel and Marc Basseng driving. The Pratt & Miller-designed Pontiac GXP.R made its debut to an impressive second place in the GT class, with Paul Edwards, Kelly Collins and Andy Pilgrim behind the wheel.
