Loeb To Le Mans For Free

loeb.jpgAutosport.com is reporting that WRC Champion Sebastien Loeb has offered his services to the French Pescarolo Sport team for free in 2007. The story quotes Italy's Autosprint, saying that "the Frenchman made the offer due to the team's financial struggles."

While Pescarolo has run a modified Courage chassis in years past, this year the team is set to debut their all-new car. This and the defection of some sponsors has left them short of funds and Loeb's kind gesture will surely be appreciated. Loeb is no stranger to the privateer team, having raced for Henri Pescarolo's outfit since 2005. Le Mans legend has it that he prepared for the race by playing Gran Turismo 4 in his private plane between that season's WRC events.
