eBay Auction of the Day: 2005 Maserati MC12

2005-maserati-mc12-hl.jpg

This 2005 Maserati MC12 race car found for sale on eBay Motors is about as fast, rare, and conspicuous as cars come.

The full-on track special features a ton of Ferrari Enzo running gear, put together in a package that is said to be even more capable as a race weapon. The MC12 sports Ferrari’s beautiful 6.0-liter V-12 engine, which puts out 630 horsepower and 481 pound-feet of torque in this trim. The Maser also offers a six-speed F1 transmission, which has been remapped for smoother operation.

While the car may be one of the better exotic options available for those ultra-wealthy buyers who are looking to go racing, it will also require an owner that isn’t afraid of standing out on the street. In the two-tone blue and white finish, with a matching blue interior, and the biggest wing this side of an F50, the MC12 is certain to draw a crowd wherever it goes. Luckily, it shouldn’t have any problem getting away from one either.

the bidder thinks it is a veyron. hell, 1.3 mill.

Ducati Minor

I agree--the seller's another idiot, and no one in his right mind would buy this. Let's get past greed.

The MC12 has become a forgotten supercar even though it's quite new. The Enzo took all the glory. The MC12 outperformed the Enzo in track runs, despite less power and more weight.

When one considers that the Enzo has dropped in value from $1.3 million to below a mil, this MC12 looks even more ridiculous.

Mena

The MC12 is helluva lot rarer than even an Enzo and quite frankly, I'd take this over the Enzo (although both are essentially the same car).

The Stig

Didn't they only make 50 of these for the world over two years? I don't think the price is bad for the rarity and exclusivity of the car. That's what Enzo were trading at and they made 350 of those.

Barry

metal air intakes..unpainted, or non baked paint, and plastic intakes. I guess it boils down to something nasa would use..and baked on high temp nonconductive, or one way giveaway conductive something or other. titanium high grade something…baked paint or stiff enough plastic. smooth in ribbed out.

mo

@ barry, stop giving the same thing over and over.
@ mena, i know, this car is way hotter than the enzo. the only problem is how they represented it as the enzo's bastard sister. since it is the enzo's bastard sister it has less power and more weight. rare are those rich guys/gals who look at track performances.

hwyhobo

It sure has a sinfully ugly interior for an Italian car of such external beauty.

hwyhobo

Come to think of it, it reminds me of my ex.

mo

@hwyhobo, well then i guess my ex is the bastard sister of your ex (she was hot from the outside ...... and that is it. no brain, no anything else).
