The Most American Cars of 2007
Every year Cars.com releases an index of the top American-made cars of the year. To make the list, a car must be at or above 75 percent domestically produced content, built in the U.S., and of course sold in the U.S. Cars.com then factors in sales figures to round things out.
Unsurprisingly, domestic automakers Ford and General Motors dominated the American-made list again in 2007, though fellow Detroit-three member Chrysler failed to make an appearance.

Ford’s F-150 pickup took top honors despite a slightly lower domestic parts content this year over last. The Blue Oval finished up with three entries on the 2007 list, with the Escape taking 7th and the Exploring sneaking in at 10th.
GM was clearly the most American in 2007, taking five spots on the list of ten. Chevy’s Cobalt moved up two places from last year to finish right behind the F-150 in second place, while the Chevy Silverado (3), Pontiac G6 (5), Trailblazer (8), and Malibu (9) all fared well, too.
Toyota was the only foreign automaker on the list, with its Tundra pickup making the move from a 10th place finish last year up to 4th in 2007. The Camry meanwhile, dropped from the second spot to off the list altogether, owing to a low domestic parts content in the nameplate sharing Solara.
