Mahindra USA has announced its partnership with MacDonald Motorsports race team. The agreement means that the Mahindra logo will be featured on DJ Kennington’s No. 81 Dodge during the NASCAR races at the California Speedway, Atlanta Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway.

“NASCAR is symbolic with speed and Mahindra is symbolic with power, so this is a natural relationship,” said Mike Hildebrand, head of marketing for Mahindra USA. “We look forward to helping DJ and the MacDonald team cultivate their dreams.”

Mahindra’s farm equipment line may get a boost from the partnership, but, really, it’s when they start selling the diesel-hybrid pickup stateside that they’ll really see a U.S. identity. Maybe even a household name?
