Next President Will Get Tough on Auto Industry

The next president is likely going to make it more difficult for the auto industry, according to Automotive News. The top three leading candidates – Republican Sen. John McCain and Democrats Sen. Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama – all favor an emissions cap.

The three candidates also favor allowing states to enforce their own emissions regulations – something automakers have been fighting to avoid.
