Hyundai Chief Gets Suspended Sentence for Embezzlement

hyundai-chairman-s.jpgHyundai Motor Group chief, Chung Mong-koo, will avoid going to jail despite being found guilty of embezzlement in his native South Korea.

Fueling the fire (some might say "validating") of a debate surrounding alleged special treatment given to high ranking members of South Korea’s family run conglomerates, the presiding judge of the Seoul High Court called Chung a “symbol of Hyundai Motor and our country.

The 895 million is in Korean Won
That translates to about $600,000 USD
This is chump change to this man
