Video: Another Scary Mono-Wheel Bike

Bold new forms of transportation don’t come about without a bit of a struggle, and for the strangely unnecessary Wheelsurf shown here, that struggle is clearly ongoing. While we applaud the efforts of the Dutch inventors working on this new-look scooter (no matter how much it reminds us of a particular South Park episode), it’s clear that they are a bit off a final product.

so when is this gonna be into production …… nuh just kiddin’.
this thing is so horrible. the guy can’t even drive for a couple of meters. as a matter of fact, this reminds me with that south park episode when Mr. garrison (the gay Mr. garrison) creates something that looks like that but with two toys, one to be put in the butt and the other to suck it while the machine operates.

The front/back instability can be overcome. What I don’t like about it is that it’s a giant gyroscope. Sudden turns would be nearly impossible.

The South Park comparisons are obvious, but I always thought the monocycle from Steam Boy was cool:

I sure as hell wouldn’t ride this thing though, I’ll keep it on two wheels for now thank you.

Meh– an ultimate wheel is more practical. Here’s mine:

Make your own ascii ultimate wheel instructions:

please copy the previous comment into the “leave a reply” box and replace each ellipsis with 3 periods. leave each single period alone. voila.

Gee, let’s build something incredibly unstable, with a huge blind spot…. right in front of your face. Some idiot with money buy it, even when it’s clearly difficult to drive. So let’s now announce how ridiculously stupid we are by saying we have production models ready.

correction: Some idiot with money - who probably has better grammar than I - *WILL* buy it.
