The Joycian World of Sat Nav Systems
Have you ever considered the controls of your navigation system, or any other computerized part of a new car to be dense, hard to understand, even downright impenetrable at times?
Well apparently so has Diego Rodriguez of Metacool, who presents to us here a brace of diagrams that are more alike than they should be.
(Click through the jump to find out why James Joyce should have worked for Honda.)
Exhibit A is Hungarian painter Laszlo Moholy-Nagy’s visual representation of the dreamscape non-narrative that makes the James Joyce masterpiece Finnegan’s Wake such a handful to read.
Exhibit B is a diagram provided by the friendly engineers at Honda, attempting to explain the use of the satellite navigation system in its Ridgeline pickup truck.
