In a move that probably wouldn’t go over too well in the politically correct United States, Nissan Japan has been using a pair of animated characters from a cult TV series in its commercials for the Nissan Note. The two male characters by the names of “Rose” and “Mary” are from an animated series called “The World of Golden Eggs” that appears on MTV in Japan. In the commercial, the two men rave about the popular compact car’s great gas mileage. As you can see from watching it, Rose and Mary appear to be quite good friends. Something tells us that an ad campaign like this could only be pulled off in Japan. Besides Rose and Mary, a number of other “Golden Eggs” characters appear in the tie-in with Nissan. Although the commercial is funny, we can’t imagine that it will send too many macho men running to the Nissan dealer to buy a Note. Maybe Rose and Mary will appear in ads for the GT-R next?
