New York Woman Survives Car Crashing Through Ceiling
Written By: Dustin P. Walsh
An Amityville, New York woman woke to a car crashing through her basement apartment ceiling last weekend.
Newsday reported that Rakiya Phillips woke to a sedan crashing through the ceiling and stopping just above her bed (not pictured to the right), wheels still spinning. She said, “I started smelling the oil and the gas, and I thought the car was going to blow up. She then began to climb out of her debris-stuffed room.
Even more remarkable, was that the driver got out of the car, exited the apartment, and walked off down the road – police are still searching for the man.
“Now I know what people say when something happens and they say it sounds like a freight train,” Phillips said. “I know the feeling now - the sound.”
