Is this an Albino Batmobile? What was it Before?

U Guess. The vanity plate couldn’t be more accurate. Everyone here at WINDING ROAD has been staring at this compilation and we can still only guess the origin of this beast.

The hatch seems to be from an F-body, the dash and steering wheel look to be from a Pontiac, and the vehicle as a whole seems to be from a bad trip. It seems to be some type of bizarre attempt at creating an albino Batmobile with a strange rear end.

After you get done scratching your head, let us know what you think this vehicle started its life as and where some of the parts came from.

The front clip is 1950-1951 Studebaker, as are the rear fenders. Body is 1982 & up Camaro/Firebird. There is a kit available that mates the 1950-1951 “Bullet Nose/Corn Picker” Studebaker front clip and rear fenders to last generation El Caminos, but had not seen this done to the Camaro/Firebird.

Tail lamps appear to be recent Bonneville.

Looka like a Firebird to me. The Aand B pillars and glass hatch as well as the interior are the giveaways to me.

My guess is that it’s a pontiac firebird of the ’80’s version. the front fenders look like they are from a late 70’s firebird/trans am. the rear fenders are from around a ‘92 chev caprice and the tail lights are from a 90’s grand am.

Affirmative. The front clip is from a 1950-51 Studebaker which is sad as it would have been much more satisfying to retain the complete Studebaker body.

I’d say an Avanti, because that uses (used?)the F-body with an Studebaker Avanti-style makeover.

Apart from the overhangs, it sort of worked.

But this is taking the retro theme one step beyond…

Looks like it was based on a firebird given the windows and interior.

It’s (ugh) ‘51 Stude as opposed to ‘50–three propellers. Yeah rear glass is a giveaway. Ugliest thing I’ve seen all week. Yet here I am looking at it. I must be sick.

Ah, it’s the production version of the GTS-R! Much better looking than in the Motor Trend pictures!
