GM Opens Test Track in Mexico

General Motors announced last week that they have opened a $50 million test track in Mexico, according to Automotive News. The hot weather test track in Cupuan del Rio in western Mexico – the town’s average heat exceeds 90 degrees.

The test track is 3.5 miles along and sits on 4,447 acres. GM said it employs 134 workers at the track. It also stated that it began looking for a location in 2000, and decided on the Mexico location only after it was unable to find a suitable location stateside.

No word on what vehicles will be – or are – tested at the track.

I guess there wasn't any good locations in New Mexico, Arizona & Texas; those are some Hot _$$ states.

Anyway good for Mexico.
