D’oh! The Simpsons Sell Renault’s New Kangoo

Renault Kangoo Simpsons Spot

Fresh off their adventure selling sandwiches for Burger King, Matt Groening's illustrious illustrated creations - The Simpsons - have found gainful employment courtesy of Renault. The French automaker has inked a deal with Fox, allowing the animated family to appear in a series of advertisements for the company's new Kangoo minivan.

From what we hear, the spots will show the entire family - yes, even Grandpa and Santa's Little Helper are in tow - leaving Springfield and jumping into our live-action world. We're unsure how exactly this proves the merits of the Kangoo, but the spots may prove to be somewhat humorous. The shots we've been given of the print spots seem cute, if not somewhat predictable.

The ads will run in 29 countries (none in North America) starting this weekend. For Renault's sake, we hope no one mistakenly associates the new Kangoo with the glorious misadventure that was The Homer.

Homer should be driving a Taurus since a Ford exec said they look alike

Weird tie in. Homer is an idiot. Everyone know this. Does that mean only an idiot would buy a Kangoo? I'm guessing they consulted Homer for the weird name.
