At The Ferrari Factory, Even Jean Todt Needs An I.D. Card

During our visit to the Ferrari factory, we saw a familiar face: company CEO Jean Todt, surrounded by a cadre of taller associates (as we’re sure Todt would admit, this is not an unfamiliar sight). We found it interesting that even the company CEO carries an I.D. badge, but we did consider the Ferrari factory’s facilities as more contemporary than one would imagine. As our photo blog from inside the factory will show (coming soon), the facilities at Maranello are decidedly advanced.

If we visited GM and Ford, would we see Mssrs. Wagoner and Mulally wearing their cards on their jacket pockets?

Maybe there’s good reason for it?

Setting the standard and example is a good trait of a strong leader! Good for him!

Is he Mel Brooks’ brother?

When Shoichiro Honda first visited the gigantic 100-acre American Honda facility (which used to be US Steel, something I always find ironic) in Gardena, CA, he INSISTED on getitng and proudly wearing his own “American Honda VISITOR” ID badge. “I work for Honda in Japan,” he later told those at a reception, setting yet another important example for everyone, “and I am happy to be a visitor to American Honda!”

Honda’s Swindon, UK plant used to be Vickers, which produced the Supermarine Spitfire in World War II.

Of course that has nothing to do with Mel Brook’s lost brother.
Now that’s a guy super models will throw themselves at.

Of course he has to wear an ID, ever since Toyota’s people broke in and stole the Formula 1 technologies I’m sure everyone has to. Good of a CEO to lead his people though.
