Nissan decided the best way to impress the European market would be to cut open a GT-R and display the gobs of technology and engineering to everyone at the Geneva Motor Show. The excitement starts when you examine all the cooling capabilities that lie underhood. then there’s a chance to check out the way the turbos attach to the engine and exhaust and a great look at the suspension geometry. All the components under the sheetmetal look like little works of art.

It’s possible that the general public is sick of GT-R publicity, but checking out the display in person is fairly exciting. We’re sure this display isn’t needed for anyone who has had a few minutes behind the wheel of the GT-R, but it helps the rest of the world understand the GT-R a little better and makes for an interesting conversation piece.

This is truly amazing. There must be a feature story in here for the e-zine, right?

I love when companies do this. Lexus did it with the GS450h in LA a couple of years ago.

The car looks so much better without bodywork.

dubspeed driven makes a case that the GT-R will not sell well. Essentially, he says the people who buy 911s and Corvettes have been dreaming of buying their car for decades, and there aren’t any folks dreaming of buying a GT-R like that.

What do you think? Will the GT-R sell?

That looks like a very cool display, although when I took a first glance at the cover picture, it seriously looked like a samurai had sliced open a car and its intestines were spilling out…470 horsepower worth of intestines. Bloody awesome.
