David E. Davis, Jr.: American Driver - Show Time, Award Time, Reunion Time for a Great Friend

american-driver-updated.jpg One of the best and best attended events clustered around the opening of the North American International Automobile Show was the ICOTY (International Car of the Year) awards evening. Mr Davis, come on. A Range Rover is a not a "car."

Hmmmnnnn

Too many awards?
Please note that the Honda got it's ass handed to it in the North American COTY......... At the very same show!

------------------------------------------------------

The fifteenth annual North American Car and Truck of the Year Awards marked the beginning of the 2008 North American International Auto Show. Hosted by Tony Swan of Car and Driver, the North American Car and Truck of the Year Awards are chosen by a select group of 45 automotive journalists who represent media outlets in the United States and Canada.

Here are the final votes.
I have to admit that I agree with the vote........except that Crossover SUVs are NOT trucks.

North American Car of the Year
Cadillac CTS: 165 points
Chevrolet Malibu: 190 points
Honda Accord: 95 points

North American Truck of the Year
Buick Enclave: 109 points
Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid: 140 points
Mazda CX-9: 201 points

You've got two different versions of this article. The one above says "retirement" and we assume that means This Bryant is leaving Road and Track. When you click on the actual article, it says "reunion" and refers to Mr. Bryant's tenure at R&T, but no word on retirement.

This is confusing.

There was a last minute change in the title and I had an older version of the article on my computer. I've updated the image and title. Sorry for the confusion.
