Vintage Video: Japanese Car Chase Hijinks

Admittedly, our Japanese isn’t good enough to figure out what movie the above footage is from. Fortunately, there’s very little dialogue in this action-packed sequence, and we’re always able to appreciate a big-budget period car chase when we see one, and this definitely qualifies.

With lots of Hollywood-style stunts (it reminds quite a bit of a Japanese-style CHiPs or Smokey & The Bandit) and an early first-generation Mazda RX-7 featured, it’s worth a quick viewing.

Enjoy.

Looks like the early RX7s came with the same flexible nose that the General Lee used to have. After the jump it's bent in half, but without fail, just a few seconds later it has magically morphed back to it's original shape.
