New Nissan Tech Leaves the Driving to the Car
Nissan’s release of its new Fuga for the Japanese market may not interest many of our readers, but two of the new technologies that are offered on that car certainly will.
The Fuga’s Distance Control Assist system will be able to calculate the distance at which the Nissan’s driver is following another vehicle. The system will also monitor the speed of both vehicles, using a radar sensor in the front bumper. Using this information the Fuga will be able to assist drivers by decelerating through the use of the brakes or a “push back

The intelligent cruise control isn't that bad.
And I could see the Distance Control Assist being helpful for helping old people avoid crashing into me on the roads. But I personally wouldn't want a digital nanny suddenly kicking in and telling me what to do while I'm driving. I tend to believe that I can make better decisions on the fly than a robot.

Just another option to opt out of. How about they come up with something truly revolutionary in safety, like stability and traction control/ABS as standard equipment on all models sold in all markets?
