There’s a new king of the Nürburgring Nordschleife, and its name is Zonda F Clubsport.
The unerringly fast Pagani Zonda has taken the title for fastest lap of the Nürburgring in a production car from Porsche’s Carrera GT, pacing the field with a time of 7:27:82, or two-tenth’s of a second quicker than the Porsche around the 14.2 mile track.
Though hardly classic in appearance, the Zonda F gets the new lap record with a classic combination of light weight and huge power; it’s 641 horsepower 7.3-liter V-12 having to move just over 2700 pounds of carbon fiber and rubber. The Clubsport also has the advantage of massive downforce generation to keep it stuck to the rolling face of the Green Hell.
As certain as the sun will rise tomorrow, is the fact that the Zonda will eventually lose its newly earned title to a faster, lighter, more sophisticated car; but for here and now, the hill belongs to Zonda.

the car looks great, i am wondering though if there are other colors but black.
I do have to say that the Zonda looks very wicked and sleek in carbon fiber.
I have a bit more respect for the Pagani than I do for the Ferrari Enzo. This car is unholy.
Remind me again how many total Zondas have ever been produced? Maybe 60 in almost a decade. As great as they are, how does one really consider it a “production” car.
See the link for more pictures of this very car from the original photo set. Some are pretty breathtaking
That’s not Black it’s nude Carbon Fiber.

[…] What a difference two tenths of a second make. The Pagani Zonda F Clubsport recently made it around Germany’s Nürburgring faster then the previous production-car record holder, the Porsche Carrera GT. The lightweight, super hi-po Zonda did the Green Hell’s 14.2 miles in 7:27:82, edging out the Porsche’s 7:28. The Mercedes 7.3-liter V12 powered Zonda’s combination of massive power (641 hp), low weight (2700 lbs) and massive downforce conspired to give the Zonda a hair’s breadth advantage. Yes, but will it blend? [Winding Road] […]
[…] Aston. That may not stop Aston from simply purchasing motors from Mercedes if it comes down to it (Pagani does so for their Zonda), but we imagine the current engine ranges will stick around for some time […]
