Wiesmann, German builder of BMW-engined exotic GT cars, is preparing for the debut of its new GT MF5 in Frankfurt…just down the road from the auto show.

Not one to crash a party, Wiesmann will be pulling the wraps off of its new tourer while christening its new dealership in Frankfurt on September 10th, the day before the Frankfurt Auto Show opens to the media.

The new GT sports the same 507 horsepower V-10 that BMW uses in its M5 and M6, promising spirited performance from the ultra-rare Euro. Though production of the MF5 won’t begin until testing has been completed, Wiesmann expects the first examples of the GT to grace the new Frankfurt shop by the middle part of next year.

Nice rear end. But it looks completely impractical.

But I don’t think that matters to people who can afford this.

So I’m guessing that “Weismann” is the German translation of “Bristol.” Is it me, or does that look like a backlight from an Audi TT covering Charles G’s wife’s derrier?

Is it just me, or deos it seem that the Italians and the Germans can take the same silhouette, and the Italians will make something sexy, while the Germans will make it look awkward?
