Toyota Set to Show Production Ready Urban Cruiser SUV in Geneva
In addition to the iQ minicar that Toyota is planning to bring to the Geneva Motor Show, the company has also planned a near production version of a small SUV based on its 2006 Urban Cruiser concept.
The Urban Cruiser will be based on the same platform that the company’s current Scion xD, and JDM 1st ride on, and will be Toyota’s first foray into the European small SUV market. Toyota claims that the Urban Cruiser is aimed at a slice of Euro car buyers who crave all-road ability, in an environmentally sound package.
The new Cruiser will reportedly be ready to go on sale in Europe during the first part of 2009. More to come when Toyota shows its concepts on March 4, in Geneva.
