Swedish Gov’t. Powering Vehicles With Confiscated Booze, Cow Entrails

Apparently, illicit boozing in Sweden is big business… and not just for those doing the drinking.

Swedish customs agents have been seizing a great deal of illegal alcohol—enough to justify turning it into bio-fuel. According to Autocar, officials estimate that they’ve taken possession of more than 700,000 liters of illicit hooch—enough to fuel 1000 busses.

California, in its energy wisdom, used methanol and waste-derived fuel in an attempt to become energy-efficient. It didn't work. I wish the Swedes the best of luck. I'm sure they are wiser than we are.

whatever it takes. cow entrails and moonshine might seem like weird fuel, but it'd just go down the drain anyway.
