Silverstone Proposes New Pit and Paddock Complex
The famed British racing circuit Silverstone has unveiled plans for a new pit and paddock complex, which could help to fully update and modernize the track. The plans are set to go up before a local council meeting for final approval.
The fairly comprehensive redevelopment plan would see the pit and paddock area shifted on the track, as well as changing the layout of the circuit itself to a certain degree. Damon Hill, former Formula One star, and president of the British Racing Drivers’ Club that owns Silverstone, said that the changes are needed if the track hopes to hang on to the British Grand Prix past its current contract through the 2009 season.
