Report: VW Developing Adjustable Damping For Golf, Passat, Tiguan
According to a print-only blurb in the June 13 issue of Autocar, Volkswagen has teamed up with Monroe to develop an adjustable suspension system for the Golf (Rabbit), Passat, and Tiguan, among others.
The new system will afford drivers the choice of three levels of suspension stiffness: ‘comfort,’ ‘standard,’ and ‘sport.’
The new system will likely appear first on the new Tiguan, but there’s no word yet on whether the system will be a stand-alone option, or fitted to specific trim levels. Further, there’s no indication that the system will be made available on North American models.

They should save that stuff for the pricier cars in the VW auto group (Bently, Audi, Lamborghini, etc.). The People's Car should be simple and pure, and remain free of these advanced electronic systems that will undoubtedly become a liability as the vehicle ages.

Why keep it simple when you can add unnecessary weight and cost to a car?
