GTM TR40 - Coming Soon To A Track Near You?
Written By: Chris Paukert

UK sports car manufacturer GTM, a small-volume builder better known for its stubby Spyker-esque Spyder and Libra cars, is apparently looking at creating a minimalist trackday weapon in the Ariel Atom mold.
Dubbed “40TR,” the exoskeletal racer is powered by a 220-horsepower Honda Civic Type-R powerplant. So-equipped, the company is betting on hitting 60 miles-per-hour in under four seconds, with a (very breezy) top speed of 150+ mph.
The price? About £15,000 (that’s around $30,000 to you and me, Yankee). If they succeed, that price will significantly undercut the Brammo Motorsports-built Ariel. This reminds us of what someone once told us about the Atom: “Small wonder that it’s so cheap… they forgot the other half at the factory!”
No word yet on when the first examples will be available.
