Danish Man Turns Audi TT into Audi TTRuck

It seems that Americans aren’t the only people who love pickup trucks of all flavors.

Born out of the need for a small, light, four-wheel drive pickup and aided by a reduced tax on commercial vehicles in Denmark; Michael Muldgaard began to convert Audi TT’s into small trucks. Muldgaard gives credit for the stylish little hauler to his wife Pia, who came up with the idea.

With a dozen already built, and orders on file for another hundred, the TT conversion seems to be gaining a small following in Denmark. Muldgaard claims that people from many walks of life need a truck, but like the idea of a small, car-based option.
The TT truck is built without modifying the Audi’s existing frame. The hatch and rear seats are removed, and the new bed is lined with a durable and quite attractive woven aluminum material. The modifications take practicality into account, but also allow for the safest possible vehicle after the conversion.

Muldgaard is nonplussed by emails he has received, asking how he could do such a thing to the iconic Audi; it must be a Danish thing, as he says that anyone from Denmark will understand.

He should sell the conversion kit to IKEA. It looks like a clean solution, but it seems like an awful expensive car to start with if you really want a truck.

Wish I had wife named Pia who thought of cool stuff like this...

You lose a lot of the style of the TT, and don't quite have as much utility as a regular pickup. But I guess that when there is a demand, there will be people to supply the goods.

I suspect that Pia is not long legged blond north-European-Scandinavian goddess: she is nowhere in those pictures. But she has brains.

The answer to the question no one thought to ask.
