Citroen Rolling Out C4 Sedan
Perhaps it’s because we Yankees haven’t been privy to them in some time, but at least a few of us WINDING ROAD staffers have a strange obsession with Gallic cars. So it is with Citroën’s odd new C4 Sedan, which the company will market in a number of European countries beginning at the end of this year.
Based on the existing platform, the C4’s chassis has been lengthened in the wheelbase to better accommodate rear seat passengers and free up space for a larger trunk. Available with either a 110 horsepower 1.6-liter gasoline four or a small diesel (the company’s well-regarded HDi DPFS unit), the C4 Sedan promises to live life on the frugal side, too.
Call us crazy, but we appreciate the French automaker’s wacky sense of proportions, as well as its innovative and bizarre interiors (the C4 features an available HVAC scented air-freshener cartridge and a fixed steering wheel boss). How about you? Peruse the high-res gallery below, and then have your say in ‘Comments.’

nice pics, but where's the pic of the "innovative and bizarre" interiors?

Looks beautiful to me, and the C6 even more so. How about a test drive report?

Reminds me of a VW.

Gorgeous.

its 2007... are digital gauges with COLOR too much to ask?

I like it. However, I'd rather have a C4 Picasso.

Well, it just looks like any other car now. How can we laugh at the French if they aren't wacky and bizarre?

The lead photo looks like it was taken in the La Boca section of Buenos Aires!

Wow... looks like rubbish! LOL! I think the hatchback of this car is far better looking... as for the inside, looks a lil plasticky for my tastes but whatever. As for the digital element not being in color, I believe this Citroen uses the sunlight or something that actually goes into the housing by day and lights up at night....not sure why, but then again this is a Citroen!

the only interesting thing about hte interior of this car is the center of the steering wheel. it never moves. when you turning you move just the ring but not the center.
i dont know if this is practical but it's a good idea.

I like the tail light treatment and the lines do remind me of VW designs. Interior seems a little to detached for a Citroen. Wish we could see some of the diesels from Europe and wouldn't mind seeing Peugot and Citroen in the US.

nice exterior design, although the roof-line is weird. the interior sucks, too much plastic, honda civic center gauge, and strange stupid useless ideas( such as the steering wheel).
