Roewe W2 to Hit China Market

w2.jpg

China's National Development and Reform Committee recently publicized a list of car models that have been officially permitted for manufacturing, which has two Roewe models codenamed CSA7180A and CSA7250.

The latter is without doubt an upscale version of 2.5-liter Roewe 750 which first made its appearance at last year’s Beijing Auto Show. The Roewe 750 series has sold 18,000 vehicles in China since March.

Rumor has it that the CSA7180A might be the production model of Roewe W2 concept, which we saw early this year at Shanghai Auto Show. Powered by a 1.8-liter Dual VVT engine, the somewhat Rover styled Roewe CSA7180A is developed together by ex-Rover’s British designers and SAIC's Chinese designers, aiming to compete with Toyota Corolla, VW Sagitar and Skoda Octavia in the China market.
