GM’s Holden Commodore Headed To Korea As Daewoo LX4
We still can’t get a Holden Caprice in North America, but General Motors says the big sedan is headed to Korea, rebadged as the Daewoo LX4.
In news announced at the Seoul Motor Show, the left-hooker will be built alongside its Holden kin in South Australia, and will only be available in long-wheelbase form powered by a 3.6-liter V-6. Unlike the Caprice, however, the Daewoo will be pitched as an upmarket limo-like option, complete with options like massaging rear seats, power rear-window curtains, and power-fold side mirrors.

The Commodore has grown on me, as has the failed GTO. I am seriously considering buying a used LS1 model for $20K. I don't like the Daewoo front-end on this car, but it's a Holden, no less. That's not a bad thing.

Sigh...This only confirms my belief that the Statesman/Caprice would have made a lovely Olds Ninety Eight (ditto a Commodore-based 88). Oh well, can't go home again.

The Commodore is built to Daewoo's standards, so it is a nice fit. How much longer can Holden get away with building such mediocrity. The engine is gutless and noisy at the same time, a remarkable achievement. Please, if you want it in America, take it and keep it.

If GM won't import it...perhaps Ford should slap a 500 or Galaxy logo on it and import it. It seems so very close in form to the 500/reborn Taurus, and yet competely different. And RWD!
Really, until you get the a tail that looks a little too Chevy Impala, the car is quite Audiesque.
Of course, pictures tell you little about build quality, durability, etc.

Austin mate, Ford Australia builds some great cars too :P

This is the 2010 Chevrolet Impala, coming soon to a theatre near you from the Oshawa, ON plant now being converted to RWD Zeta production.
Luckily it will have a much prettier (and somewhat retro) body and also be available with an L76 6.0L V-8.

It looks like they were heavily influenced by Lincoln and Infiniti.

darn...it why dont they thought of saving $$ and send such model to the US instead creating random retard models...for us...

this car is available in australia as a v8/260kw

robb, I doubt ti was influenced by either of those brands given it's designed for the Australian market and those brands don't exist here.

In Australia, the Caprice is much nicer looking than this, but not as nice as the HSV Grange... its a beaut at 307kw too...http://www.hsv.com.au/Cars/ESeries/grange/grange.asp
