Video Vendition: Saab’s Aero X Makes the Sultry Scene
New York marked what is essentially the end of this year’s OEM automotive show season, though there are plenty of international events yet left this year, including Shanghai (next week), Frankfurt, and Tokyo.
In the meantime, we stumbled upon this video depicting one of our favorite show cars of the last few years, Saab’s Aero X. We’re not sure if this brand spot ever ran on television (and if so, in what markets), but it’s too gorgeous not to pass on. Besides, we're suckers for robotic bulldogs and Nina Simone (even if someone has remixed her vocals into a chillout track).
In either case, let's just hope that the once-proud Swedish marque can build on the Aero X’s momentum by giving birth to a production model with styling and functionality that’s as captivating as the concept.

That is the first time I've seen that car. It has the sort of front end that more manufacturers should try for instead of the aweful "Peterbilt" knock off grilles that seem so popular on sports cars like Audi right now.

Sexy. Saab needs a TT-esque car in their lineup. I really think it could put them (as a whole) in a good direction. Something that wouldn't sell because it's a Saab or because it's better than the competition, but because it is that damn striking.

Actually SAAB could build this car right now. Like some have already said it wouldn't have some of the Wheez, Bang & I'm not that limber to get into this thing stuff, but they could build it. This car is based on the Tried and Trusted mechanicals of the Corvette much like the Cadillac XLR. It's Too Bad that GM holds SAAB's Purse-strings. I'm sure with some reworking Saab could have a great Halo car. Could you imagine a Turbo 4 or 6 Engine. Sweet!
