Tokyo Motor Show: Suzuki’s X-Head, All Trucks to All People
The X-Head turns out to be just about as cool in the metal as it seemed to be on the digital page.
Suzuki pulled out all the stops for its baby pick-up truck at the Tokyo Motor Show; showing not only the X-Head in all its gory green glory, but a few models of lifestyle variants, and an X-Head adventure cartoon as well.
Yes, when the X-Head took the stage we can say that it was almost relieving to find out that the truck wasn’t quite as imposing as the initial images had made it out to be. Stout, compact, and dare we say it, really cute; the X-Head showcases how Suzuki can build a vehicle to fit many lifestyles.
As evidenced by the trio of X-Head models, the small truck is nothing if not a versatile platform; able to be anything from a fairly mundane crane-bearing work vehicle, to a camping tool, to hell’s own flamed and dubbed cruisin’ pick-up.
We are currently trying our very hardest to source a copy of the most unexpected part of the X-Head stand, the X-Head cartoon show. Perfectly Japanese in its execution, the short cartoon seemed to show Suzuki’s truck, in all its varieties, be driven around by what we can only guess was some kind of crime fighting team. More on that to follow, we promise.

I always assumed the models next to cars were there to draw more people to the stand, but in this case, I think they are definitely there to illustrate the scale of the vehicle, which is smaller than I would have thought.

I so wish that they would make it as-is. for once I want a manufacturer to actually produce the concept vehicle (Dodge Powerwagon, Jeep rescue, etc).

I like the big-rig looks of this truck and would consider buying it but don't have my hopes built up. After all, Nissan never built the Gobi. Remember the Gobi?

This thing will sell millions of copies. It has all the lovability of a VW Beetle with the bonus of functionality. Their stock is going up.

I have for many years purchased pick-ups/jeeps to suit as many roles as possible...work and recreation being just 2 roles for a vehicle to adhere to sounds easy yet work will encompass indoor, outdoor, urban ,suburban and rural along with types of use and user. This is the vehicle I have been searching for.Never before have i been so taken by a design to prompt this action .I relly want to push Suzuki to produce this X-head even for their own "Kei" home market thus allowing others to purchase as a grey import.**This is the icon for suzuki's progressive future ,small cars with big appeal.**
