Saleen has announced that it will reveal its S5S Raptor concept at this year’s New York Auto Show in March.

The Saleen S5S Raptor is a high-performance supercar powered by an ethanol-based 5.0-liter supercharged engine. The Raptor concept rendering features a lightweight design, said to be of an aluminum chassis and composite exterior skin. Saleen estimates the S5S Raptor will have a top speed of over 200 mph.

If it actually looks like this, I like it. Maybe this design is what the Acura NSX concepts should have been like.

Glad to see the "vents" will be toned down a little. There was a shot of this in clay in the background of a photo recently, the size looks in the Gallardo range, should be a sweet ride. Will this be slightly down market or a replacement for the S7?

Paul In Jersey

How exciting! It means that this phantasmagorical machine will attract the crowds, leaving the "real world rides" in plain site. Thank you Saleen!

Jonathan Fung

That can't be a Saleen. Or the artist got too tired to draw in the rest of the vents. =)

I look forward to seeing pics of it in the metal.

Ah, so that's what people were seeing under the tarp at the Lotus factory at Hethel.
