The idea of being able to get blow-by-blow directions from an infallible computer guide in your car is a great one in theory, though in practice sometimes it can be more distracting than it’s worth. That being said, which Nav system, OEM or aftermarket, do you think is the best to use overall? Which is the easiest? Which setups have steered you wrong? Share your thoughts, in comments.

While few people would want to steal this Soviet-era minicar, fewer still would even be able to penetrate its robust and complex security system. Unless they had a heavy set of scissors. Give us your best caption to this impenetrable defense, in comments.

After having the pretty 2009 Mercedes-Benz SLK350 in our clutches all week (the fleet blog report is coming, not to worry), our minds have been tuned to the three-pointed star. So, as is our want, we thought we’d ask which Benz was the all-time best for Winding Road readers. Give us your best M-B pick, in comments.

As a quick glance at auction results from across the country can tell you, American’s have long been gonzo over muscle cars. And though we know through experience that the typical WINDING ROAD reader isn’t the typical American car guy, everyone’s got to have at least a bit of love for a big ‘ole V-8, right? Simple question: what’s your favorite muscle car of all time? For the purposes of debate we’ll leave the definition of the category completely up to you. Give us your most interesting pick, in comments.

So despite some good critical thinking and a number of interesting answers, too many of us were able to have “change” from yesterday’s $20,000 Question of the Day. Knowing full well that we’ll be picked on by the QofD faithful (you know who you are), we’re going to restate yesterday’s poser with a limit of $5,000 instead. Still enough scratch to find something interesting but more along the lines of a hobby budget. Do your best, in comments.

While it’s interesting to ponder what you would stock your personal paddock with if you ever struck it rich, chances are most of us won’t ever have the chance to own some of the worlds more exotic automobiles. But a lack of money doesn’t have to mean a dearth of fun either; for less than say, $20,000, a world of options could be had. So if you had an extra $20K dropped in your checking account today, earmarked for the purchase of one vehicle, which would it be? Give us your most considered answer, in comments.

While German brands like Audi and Mercedes-Benz may still be leaders in building world-class automotive interiors, other companies are catching up quickly. A Lexus cabin has always been a nice place to do business, and likes of Hyundai and Nissan are making great strides. So we ask you, which automaker gets the interior of the car most right, most often? Which model in particular stands out as a beautiful driving environment? Share your thoughts, in comments.

There’s been a lot of talk in recent days about the plan endorsed by John McCain and Hillary Clinton, and opposed by Barack Obama, to give Americans a “holiday” from the federal gas tax during this summer’s driving season. While many of our readers weighed in on the subject earlier today, we’re interested in hearing from more of you. Do you believe that the tax break will be good for working America, or ultimately fall short of its goal? Give us your best guess, in comments.

Engines are fantastic, styling can win your heart, but there’s nothing quite like the feel of a great transmission. Most will admit that a manual is far more involving, but there’s an art to getting any one of the kinds of automatics right as well. So which automaker do you think gets it right most often? Give us your pick for best transmission builder, in comments.

Inspired by the van according to Dale, we couldn’t resist asking a question of the day about the art of van-based airbrush painting. If you were lucky enough to be in a position to decide, who or what would you have muralized on the side of your ride? Give us your most tribute worthy subject, in comments.

Many automakers are starting to come around to the fact that they may be able to sell a few more diesel-powered cars in the U.S. then they have in the past, even with the cost of the fuel rising fast in this country. And while our options become greater by the week, the American public doesn’t have the oil-burner selection found in the rest of the world. Which make and model of car would you like to see offered with a diesel option? Why would that combination work so well for you? Give us your best diesel-powered design, in comments.
(Better as diesels? Check out a few of our fantasy picks below.)
