Volkswagen Shadow Poster Ad Campaign Lets Sun Sell Convertibles
Volkswagen AG put together this interesting advertising experiment. With a simple poster from DDB Dusseldorf, Volkswagen was able to use a shadow to catch the eyes of potential buyers.
The study reports a 12 percent increase in test drives of the Eos convertible. This is the first time a solar poster has been used to sell cars and the ad is a finalist in the London International Awards in the Ambient Outdoor Category. The 2000 Euro poster is reportedly worth 200,000 Euros in publicity. Sounds like a good deal to us.

That's very cool. I looked at the pic at first and tried to figure out how to read the mirror image of the text, just to figure out I didn't know German. XD. Thank god for translations which allow me to appreciate the genius in this ad.
Speaking of ads, holy bejesus the new format of WR has tons of them. (Thankfully the page skip allows me to maneuver through them.)

But...despite the ads, (I wish there were more variety to them, come on now, advertisers,) I have to say that the Dec 07 issue of Winding Road Magazine is the best yet.

I dislike the WR format. I'm not opposed to change, but the execution has been terribly flawed and problematic on my computer.
