Site Helps Users Track Down the One that Got Away
A lot of us have done it. We’ve sold a car we wish we wouldn’t have. For me, it was a custom 1951 Chevrolet Fleetline Deluxe. There have been nights spent awake wondering what’s happened to the car; do the new owners show it off? Do they take good care of it?
Now, there’s a Web site where you can track down your lost ride to ensure its quality of life without you. The Lost Car Registry features forums for users to track down the car they may have sold, but never recovered from the heartbreak.
The site allows users to post the make, model, and VIN of the car they are looking for, in hopes that the owner will contact them.
For some, this may be opening old wounds, but for others, it’s a way to seek closure in knowing the car is in good hands – or, maybe, a way to buy it back.

Nice '51...my first car, at age 13, my father bought for me for $50, a '49 Chevy 2-door coupe. Once got pulled by the cops for obstructing traffic 'cause the engine was blown so bad that I was using a quart of re-manufactured oil every 5 miles. I was thinking I was killing mosquitoes. Funny, there was never a problem back then with not having a licence.
