Honda Expecting Even Better North American Sales Figures this Year
While many automakers are expecting a downturn in sales due to the slumping American economy, Honda’s president is not feeling gloomy at all. Speaking at a press meeting in Tokyo, Takeo Fukui told reporters that Honda sales in the United States have been doing better than ever, particularly on the East Coast. Not surprisingly, he says the sales boosts are due in large part to the popularity of Honda’s small fuel efficient models like the Fit rather than its SUVs and light trucks. Following record sales this past year, Honda is expecting North American sales figures to rise another 3 percent.
