Dodge has released pricing information on the ferocious 2008 Viper SRT10 ACR that made its debut at the L.A. Auto Show last month, keeping its promise to offer the car at less than $100,000.

The track-ready Viper will come in with a $98,110 base price, and includes much of what you’ll want to jump in and race right away. Most important is the 8.4-liter 600 horsepower V-10, that’s connected to a Tremec six-speed manual transmission. All that power is better served by the 40 pounds of weight saved over the base Viper, and can be leveraged further still by opting for the “Hard Core” package to drop an additional 40 pounds.

An adjustable rear-wing, adjustable suspension, and an up-rated anti-roll bar will all help new Viper owners to keep the prodigious power in check, with the car’s nose pointed forward on the circuit. The Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires should help a fair bit, too.

The Viper is just an amazing car, I can’t wait until I can afford one. Until then I’ll just keep driving my 1994 Nissan Altima.
