2009 Suzuki Equator Image Revealed Ahead of Chicago Auto Show

fqstepmold.jpg

We don't have much information right now, but here is the first official image of the 2009 Suzuki Equator pickup truck to share with you. We know the Equator is based on a Nissan Frontier and will be revealed next week at the Chicago Auto Show.

We are certainly sad the trucklet doesn't look anything like the X-Head, but at least Suzuki is getting some new product and the Nissan Frontier isn't a bad place to start.

Stay tuned to WINDING ROAD for live updates from the show floor starting next Wednesday.

Here's to hoping it goes better than Isuzu's version of the Chevy Colorado. Is the Isuzu gonna be any cheaper or less powerful than the Frontier?

Absolutely a Frontier with a different grille. I wonder how they're going to price this. Because once you swap out the gaudy grill with a plainer mesh one, it could be a nice alternative to the Frontier.

Nice looking, I am sure Suzuki will make a quality truck. Perhaps they will place a diesel engine in a small truck. No one else seems incline to go there. It would seem to be a no brainer to me. Better mileage, torquer engine and more pulling power. Why not??
