2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 LS9 Engine Photos
Here’s the latest in an endless string of advance information on the 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and its supercharged LS9 engine.
We’re expecting 650 horsepower and an ungodly amount of torque from this 6.2-liter V-8 thanks to that sweet intercooler system. We’ve got a video of the monster Corvette here and tons of high-res photos here. Both were captured during the final ALMS race this year where the ZR1 went out for a lap.
We’ll bring you the full scoop on the ZR1 during press days of the North American International Auto Show, or whenever they appear online. Meanwhile, let us know what you think in comments.

Blue cover. Blue devil?

Now that's some tidy packaging, what with the blower nestled in the valley and a compact air-to-water intercooler built into the intake manifold (at least i think that's what's going on from the looks of it).

It's interesting that you include a link to DigitalCorvettes when the owner of that site has banned the posting of links to Winding Road. C'mon guys, there are a lot better, more standup Corvettes sites out there to link to.

When I reached Phil's "ungodly amount of torque," I thought of the Buick GS 455 with its 510 ft.-lbs. Nice to see Chevy finally caught up.

me parece muy bien la incorporacion de un supercharged para esa joya del automovilismo como lo es el CORVETTE, con ese poder de 650 HP creo que es suficiente como para seguir la tradicion del orgullo americano.

"Yeah but the Chevy is 300 lbs lighter than a Buick GS 455 and will have at least 300 more hp. Not to mention it will actually be able to turn. Big difference there."
Wow Mena...I didn't realize that.

New Corvette looks good. Just wondering though how much will it go for this time? 650 horsepower is great. still their are other cars that a buyer can get for much much cheaper and just suit it up to make it around the 600 horsepower. still a corvette is the dream car to every muscle car lover so cant hate.

Perhaps with a little tweaking to the pulley system an aftermarket company might be able to add more boost and get over 700 hp with this engine...
