Mahindra Scorpio and Pik-Up to be Built in Brazil
Mahindra still hasn’t decided whether it’s going to build or import its pickups in the U.S. However, the Indian company has taken a step closer to the importing route with a manufacturing deal with Brazil's Bramont-Montadora Industrial e Comercial de Veiculos.
The Brazilian company will assemble the Mahindra Scorpio and Pik-Up at an initial rate of 5,000 units annually.
The 110-horespower 2.6L turbodiesels will be marketed through Bramant’s dealer network in Brazil, according to Edmund’s Inside Line.
Mahindra still plans to market the Scorpio in the U.S. through an independent distributor next year – these particular models will be imported from India, for now.
