Already a Line for McLaren’s Next Supercar
If you're thinking about being the first to get your hands on McLaren's upcoming supercar, you're too late. CAR magazine reports that a few dozen fiscally-healthy individuals have already placed their orders at the company's headquarters in Woking, England.

For those who care about both style and performance, the renderings offered by the magazine are reportedly very close to the production supercar. If so, expect the car to be clean yet unoffensive; an interesting mix of Audi R8 and Artega GT.
The supercar, codenamed P11 but still officially unnamed, will reportedly use vast quantities of both aluminum and carbon fiber, aiming to keep its weight below that of the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera or Ferrari's F430 Scuderia. After speaking with McLaren insiders, CAR says the P11 will weigh in at around 1200 kg, which, coupled with a 500-hp 6.3-liter V-8 sourced from Mercedes' AMG group, may put 0-60 mph times in the sub-four second range.
If you seriously are interested in getting on that waiting list, act fast. CAR puts annual production at less than 5,000 units, making the P11 likely to become a hot commodity in the supercar world. Production should start sometime around 2010, but get your order in now.
