The Three-Wheel Sub G1 Roadster

sub-g1-roadster-hl.jpg

This minimalist three-wheel device is called the G1 and it’s a product of Southern California startup Sub Vehicles.

Based on the company’s earlier One-Up design model, displayed at London’s Millennium Dome throughout last year, the G1 is Sub’s first drivable vehicle. The small manufacturer has built the car with an eye towards producing it for use on both the road and the track.

As the owner of a 2F1R three wheeled sport vehicle, I can assure anyone that something like this will even exceed your anticipated fun factor. I sometimes ask myself why anyone who has driven one would ever go back to a motorcycle. Note though that what seems to be a cover over a second seat on what would be the passenger side is actually an engine cover. I believe that in this vehicle, the driver sits next to the engine, still making it a one person vehicle. Now, get rid of those awful high crown motorcycle tires in install some nice, flat automotive radial performance tires, and see what a difference that makes. This vehicle is a guaranteed success. Thanks to all involved for bringing it this far and best wishes for much success.

I'm sure that this would be a ton of fun... But, the question that I keep coming back to... What's the advantage over a real motorcycle? The motorcycle will have better performance, it'll lean (which is so much fun!), it'll be no more dangerous... Help?

Perhaps someone can explain to me why I should salivate over something that will never be street legal in California?

Tony

Check out the CARVER Motorcycle and VentureOne. Fully enclosed 3-wheel motorcycles that lean up to 45 degrees. The VentureOne is USA built soon for sale, and supposed to have a hybrid version with over 100mpg.
